Wedding Dress Perfection

That wedding dress is worth a few more looks so here is an additional photo.

The bride was just stunning along with that awesome setting at Bethesda Episcopal Church in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Allison at Something Bleu really outdid herself on this dress.

Saratoga Bride in the Rain

Don’t let that rain get you down! Just be sure to have a lot of big umbrellas available for your wedding day. You will be so relieved if you take this precaution and it does rain as this bride is showing as she rushes from her limousine to the Bethesda Episcopal Church her in the center of Saratoga Springs.

I just so happen to know that that amazing dress is from the folks at Something Blue here in Saratoga Springs, NY. The shop does some amazing work and is worth checking out!

Wedding Reception in a Bowling Alley

Tom and JoAnne were so awesome; first a stunning and sophisticated ceremony at a lake house then a wild reception at a bowling alley!

As a guy who got married at a punk rock concert I can really appreciate doing your wedding a little different. The colors of the bowling alley really made these photos pop. Here we have the bride and groom watching old family photos on one of the bowling alley’s many televisions.

Weding at Bethesda Episcopal Church – Saratoga Springs NY

I’ve shot some documentary work both about the congregation as well as the fantastic pipe organ at the Bethesda Episcopal Church in Saratoga Springs, NY; but for the first time I got to shoot a wedding there.

It was also really cool as I have seen this bride and groom go from girlfriend and boyfriend to married couple over the last decade at various other weddings that we have shot.

Despite being as dark as a cave the church is really spectacular and you’d be really lucky too have your ceremony there.

If you’d like to see some more of the church check out my reel here… http://daelias.com/?page_id=75

Lake george NY – Cocktail Time Ceremony

It’s always a lot of fun when a bride and groom do something a little different. This couple mixed a “wedding cocktail” as part of their ceremony; in this case a Brandy Alexander. They hand grated the nutmeg and had beautiful glassware for the drinks different components.

It’s these little details that can make your wedding photos that much more.

Lake George NY Wedding

This wedding was so much fun. It started off at a gorgeous home in Lake George NY and finished up with a reception at a bowling alley!

The service was all conducted on an I Pad which was a first for me.

Jewish Weddng Ceremony – Wrapped in the Tallas

I love this photo of the bride and groom wrapped in this gorgeous tallit by a beaver pond in the Adirondack Mountains. Despite all of the modern trappings like wristwatches, modern clothing and eyeglasses this moment links the visual present to Judaism’s three thousand years of tradition. It’s kind of amazing to be able to trace this moments roots to a place thousands of miles away and a time so long ago.

Don’t be confused by tallit vs. tallas. Due to the diaspora of the Jewish people we tend to have at least two words for everything such as Chanukah vs. Hanuka.

Jewish Wedding – Adirondack Mountains

We photographed a really spectacular Jewish wedding this summer in the Adirondack Mountains. The bride is a Rabbi and there were so many wonderful traditions observed before and during the ceremony.

Here is a detail I took during the first moments the bride and groom are allowed to see each other on the wedding day.

Engagement Photos – Time to Start Planning

Engagement photos can be so great so it pays to do a little thinking and planning ahead to get the very most out of your engagement photos.

With the cold weather holding many folks back here in upstate NY you can think ahead to where that perfect spot is for your photos and when that spot will be just right. Spring will be here before you know it so start planning to make the most out of your engagement photos when the weather is beautiful.
